Pass The Hurricane
Roberto E. DeBourg

The clouds went on streams
The pressure went low
The channels screamed
The radio said go

I felt all my bones
Like needles and pins
The concern had grown
The shelter ran thin

If able, they fled
Skeptics gripped home
Neurotics well fed
By ratings were wronged

But even this trapped
Within our own frame
The people will rise
Pass the hurricane

Coming like a flash
Blew from east to west
Running from its path
Put up to the test

There's another day
Holding hands we'll pray
We've all bunkered down
The children are safe

And the sun will shine
Once the wind subsides
We have all been here
We have paid the price

For even this trapped
Within our own frame
The people will rise
Pass the hurricane

There won't be a number
To tie us to pain
Cause strong we'll grow funder
Pass the hurricane
